WHATS ICMELER LIKE
This place slams a tick in all of the essential holiday boxes, but goes one better with its scenery. Cast an eye beyond the thatched parasols and hotels that huddle around Icmeler Beach, and the hilly backdrops a real eye-popper. Green-splashed slopes tuck together to form a big letter V on the horizon, and the island-speckled bay looks more like South-east Asia than Turkey.
The Grand Yazici Club Marmaris Palace is buddied up with a tree-backed beach.
Days on the sand are a doddle at this place. A couple of short strides gets you to a ruler-straight strip of parasols and sunbeds. The green-shaded ridges of neighbouring islands peek out of the bay, and must-visit Marmaris is a 10-minute taxi ride away.
The designers had their fingers in a lot of pies when they dreamt up this place. The entrance looks like a Medieval castle, Tudor England meets Ancient Greece in the lobby, and the garden-based amphitheatre looks fresh out of Roman times.

A plus-sized pool dominates the outdoor terrace at the Grand Yazici Club Marmaris Palace. Mealtimes can be split between a buffet joint and a quartet of à la carte options, and there are a couple of bars for evening drinks. Live performers hit the stage in the amphitheatre, and theres an outdoor playground for kids. The spa has a sauna and a massage menu in its repertoire.

The pool measures in at lagoon size. When youre not taking a dip, the hotels entertainment bods liven things up with team games, water polo and aqua aerobics. Kids, on the other hand, will be hooked by the colourful castle and slide-sided splash pool.
Mix up beach or poolside lounging by giving the hotels third option a whirl. A long sunbathing platform noses out into the bay, which means 360º vistas while you let the sun do its work.

ENTERTAINMENT
Grab a chair at the terrace-bound Stone Bar, and you can drink in the views as well as a cocktail. Pine Bar, on the other hand, has an edgier feel think bare-brick walls, rustic wooden furniture and strawberry-red columns.
Live shows are a big hit in the old-school amphitheatre. The stepped seatings overlooked by a wrought-iron balcony, and you can expect traditional dancers and singers on the bill.
EVENING ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAMME
Theres evening shows with a variety of themes, beach parties and activities for children. The full animation programme is available from the beginning of May to mid-October. A reduced programme is offered outside of this period.
