I was looking to change my corded poled hedge trimmer, to a cordless version. I have primarily Makita 18V tools, and a Bosch 18V drill with two batteries. I really didnt want add another selection. I noticed that this particular range from Gardena allow you to use the Bosch Power4All range of batteries, which led me to investigate this hedge trimmer. I found this on the Tooled Up site at £79.95 which was significantly less than elsewhere. It was a no brainer. Its only for occasional use on one hedge. I have other Gardena garden items and have always been pleased with them. This seems to be a good item at a good price. You can of course add batteries and a charger if you wish, Postage was £6.95

The THS 42 can be used with any battery which is part of the Power For All 18v Alliance, and it is an energy efficient machine. A fully charged 2.0ah Power For All battery will provide up to 80 minutes runtime, giving you enough time to complete around 200 square metres of hedge. Upgrade to a 6.0ah battery and it will run for up to four hours, or around 600 square metres. An integrated charge level indicator on the handle of the tool makes it easy to check remaining charge at any point so you can always see how much power is left in the battery.
