This tablet is great for reading on. You can fill it up with comix, cookery books, art books, books with maps, books with diagrams, books which are only available in PDF or eyewateringly expensive hardback huge ebooks of collected works, Audoble versions of books. It copes with the lot.
Its nearly as good as e-ink as far as avoiding eyestrain goes. Its an LCD screen but it is completely matt so there is no glare. TCL do some fancy jiggery pokery with with colours so it looks like youre getting the full spectrum but the sort of blue light which interferes with your sleep is filtered out and replaced with a mixture of other wavelengths to mimic it. Its a better stab at colour than a Kindle colorsoft or colour Kobo and comes with 128 GB storage.
The sound is very good for a cheap tablet. You can watch yoiu tube, have a few tabs on the web open, send and receive email. You can buy a separate stylus for about £30 for drawing.
The bad side. This is an older model. TCL seem a bit rubbish with updates and frankly id be surprised of any more turn up. The processor and the memory arent really good enough for productivity or gaming. Pay £200 for the newer NXTPaper 11 plus or get the brand new tablet which is just being rolled out for more money for better specs.
TLDR I dont think you can get a better screen for reading on at this price
